Character Description[]
Mike is a tall and rather beefy student at Bullworth, currently holding the title of the tallest student in school, just barely surpassing Russell. His impressive height and build allows him to move freely around campus, without having to worry about being bullied by others.
He has dark brown hair styled in dreadlocks, often pushed behind the ears and tied together with a bandana. He takes great pride in maintaining his hair, regularly retwisting it to keep it fresh and neat. In the evening, he wraps it in a black scarf or ties it into a ponytail.
Mike usually wears his Letterman jacket over a grey gym shirt with some grey pants and school approved athletic shoes. Once the winter cold sets in, he buttons up his jacket and puts on some gloves and a beanie.
Outside of school, he typically wears a red tank top, baggy jeans, white sneakers, and swaps his bandana for a black sweatband. During the winter months, he switches to a blue hoodie, black pants, and hiking boots.
His nighttime wear consists of only boxer briefs and grey sweatpants.
Additionally, he has separate uniforms for football and wrestling, each reserved for its respective sport.
Characteristics[]
Mike's imposing appearance gives off the vibe of someone who shouldn’t be messed with. However, those who spend at least 5 minutes with him quickly realize that he's somewhat of a gentle giant. Mike is the most kindhearted of his siblings and doesn't mind helping others. His first name is actually Michael, but he much prefers to be called Mike.
Despite his overall mellow demeanor, Mike still contributes to the bullying at Bullworth mainly to maintain his reputation among his peers and to show others not to bother him. He acts as a bodyguard to his younger sister, often quick to fight her battles whether she wants him to or not. This grace is sometimes extended to Aaron, depending on the situation he may be in.
He has also developed a bit of an ego due to his ongoing win streak in wrestling and his exceptional performance on the football team, often being considered the very best of the worst. This success has led him to look down on "weaker" individuals on the school's other sports teams, frequently making jabs at their physique or performance. In the grand scheme of things, this is all in an attempt to remind everyone where he stands at Bullworth.
Strengths[]
Mike is in great physical shape, working out often and maintaining a diet full of the necessary proteins, nutrients, and fibers. This regime aligns with his usual sports training which then translates into his fighting skills, opting to use wrestling moves and grapples in his fights.
He also prides himself on being a loyal individual and stands firm in his morals and beliefs. Once he considers someone a friend, he’s protective of them and will go to great lengths to have their back, even if they're in the wrong. Moreover he’ll defend his friends without hesitation, presenting a united front, but if they're in the wrong he’s not afraid to call them out or scold them privately. Despite this, Mike is not a pushover. He has little tolerance towards those who take advantage of his trust. He believes that loyalty is a two-way street, and if someone fails to hold up their end, they have to fall in line or get out of his way .
Coming from a wealthy background, Mike does have a lot of funds at his disposal. Even though he doesn't flaunt it, he doesn't mind spending it on his friends. He also does have his own vehicle that he uses to get around Bullworth and helps his family and friends with a ride every now and then.
Unbeknownst to many, Mike has a excellent writing skills and has taken a liking to poetry. Even though he prefers to keep this talent to himself as a personal outlet, he occasionally uses it to write romantic letters to those he secretly has a crush on. Both Mr. Douglas and Miss Peters often asks Mike for his input on their scripts for school plays.
The classes Mike excels at the most are Gym, English, Drama, and Shop.
Weaknesses[]
As mentioned, Mike has a bit of an ego and struggles with losing to someone he considers weaker than himself. It doesn’t happen often, but when it does, it hits him hard, causing his typically friendly and humble demeanor to crack.
Mike often struggles with gauging his own strength when fighting, he doesn't think it's fair to give his all to someone who's smaller than him. However, when pushed into a rage he can deal serious damage, with his fights in the Hole proving that. So it's best to not provoke him.
He also has a sense of responsibility that is most evident when it comes to his siblings, even though it often frustrates them. As the eldest, he feels a strong obligation to be a role model, which leads him to try and keep them on the right path, especially when it comes to staying focused in school. Despite their annoyance, he genuinely believes it's his duty to guide them.
Mike has no classes that he's particularly doing bad in, but the lowest he's got on his report card was a C in Math.
Social Standing[]
Mike’s social standing at Bullworth is high, but not quite at the top. As captain of the wrestling team and a star defensive tackle on the football team, he's respected by his fellow jocks. He’s well-known around school for his victories and physical prowess, which earns him a lot of attention, but he doesn’t quite command the same level of influence as Ted. His charm and reputation for being one of the few "decent guys" at Bullworth help him stay well-liked, even if his occasional bullying keeps him from being universally admired.
He does have several friends in other cliques like Mitzi Patricelli and Bentley You. Unfortunately, their respective cliques aren't necessarily fond of him; mainly because of his brother and sister. Leading to him having the most disdain towards the Preppies and the Nerds. There's even an ongoing rivalry between him and Bif Taylor, which is at a point where they can barely co-exist in the same room with each other.
Mike has a great reputation among townsfolk, his status as an athlete comes with high praise and privileges from the townsfolk. His mother also brags about his accomplishments to others, earning him a favorable image around town.
Background and Personal Life[]
Romantic Relationships[]
Mike has had his fill of dates and flings, but no one really peaked his interest enough for him to jump into a relationship. However, he has developed a crush on a student by the name of Weston Williamson. Mike struggles with his sexuality, but something about Wes makes him feel different and he would like to act on these feelings, but he isn't exactly sure how to navigate them.
Familial Relationships and Background[]
Prior to the fallout of his parents' divorce, Mike lived a relatively peaceful life, he was doing great at sports, excelling in school, and had a lot of friends. However, his father's actions has ruined his view of him and now harbors a grudge against him for hurting his mother. He was relieved to leave his father behind in Georgia, confident that wherever his mother took him, he would be fine.
With that being said, Mike maintains a strong and supportive relationship with his mother. He gives her the least amount of problems compared to his siblings and strives to make her proud, but in turn, she’s preparing for the inevitable moment for when he leaves for college, something that neither of them are ready for.
Mike puts forth a lot of effort into guiding his siblings down the right path. While Kelsey generally follows his lead, Aaron is usually the one to cause him problems. He has high expectations for Aaron and believes he has the potential to be great. It just frustrates him to see Aaron getting mixed up with the wrong crowds and struggling with his grades. Despite his best efforts, Mike is unsure how to get Aaron back on track.
As far as his extended family goes, Mike loves them and has no issues from them. He's just happy that both sides of the family are able to get along despite his father's infidelity.
