Character Description[]
Kelsey, a petite student with a curvy figure, might be mistaken for one of the younger students from a distance. Despite occasional teasing from other students about her size, she fully embraces her height and carries herself with unwavering self-assurance.
Kelsey possesses naturally coily hair that she styles in a variety of ways to suit her preferences. She takes great care of her hair and considers it her most cherished feature. In the evening, she ensures its protection by wearing a silk bonnet while she sleeps. Her eyes are a unique dark, pale hazel green, the result of a rare gene inherited from her father.
In her morning classes, Kelsey typically dons the standard uniform. Specifically, she is frequently spotted wearing a white blouse, a plaid green skirt, and wedged Mary Jane shoes. After lunch, she changes into her cheerleading outfit, trading her Mary Janes for the school's custom-designed cheerleading shoes.
In the winter, she makes alterations to both outfits. For her regular school attire, she adds a school sweater, leggings, Ugg boots, a black faux fur hat, and lilac gloves. As for her cheerleading uniform, she incorporates the cheer squad's turtleneck sweater and dark blue leggings during the colder months.
Outside of school, Kelsey opts for a long-sleeved shirt of her preferred color of choice, paired with a grey skirt, and black flats. As the winter chill sets in, she swaps her grey skirt for skinny jeans, layers on a pink parka, and completes the look with cozy Ugg boots and earmuffs for added warmth.
For her nightwear, she prefers a pastel lavender tank top paired with black running shorts and white socks.
Additionally, for regular gym activities outside of cheerleading, she wears her gym uniform.
Characteristics[]
Kelsey often gives off an impression of being mean, standoffish, and completely narcissistic to many at Bullworth Academy. These are traits she seems to embrace, using them to navigate school life with ease. However, it's worth noting that she does have a somewhat kinder side that she shows to her friends.
She doesn't allow others to intimidate her, and any hint of disrespect is met with an escalated response, essentially operating on a "when they go low, I go to hell" principle. This belief has led to significant tension between her and several other notable students at Bullworth, particularly Derby Harrington.
Despite her well-put-together appearance and demeanor, she has a bad habit of bottling up her anger. She often chooses to verbally lash out at people who agitate her to the extreme, even extending this behavior to those she calls her friends. However, she almost always manages to stop herself from saying anything that would hurt their feelings.
Kelsey's friends witness a completely different side of her - one that is passionate and loving. Despite her involvement in the bullying at Bullworth, she is often the one to step in and stop it if it goes too far. Kelsey never tolerates anyone bullying younger students.
Strengths[]
Kelsey is physically fit, maintaining excellent stamina, agility, and poise, all of which she acquired from her experiences as a ballet dancer and cheerleader. While not the most experienced fighter, she can hold her own, armed with a mean right hook. Otherwise, she's not above using less conventional methods like hair-pulling and scratching to defend herself.
She is quite the artist with a knack for fashion design. In fact, she's the designer behind this year's cheerleading team outfits, and they even earned the stamp of approval from none other than Dr. Crabblesnitch himself.
Kelsey is also a talented actress, and it's from this talent that she draws her manipulation skills. Her acting prowess has earned her consistent praise from Mr. Douglas. She has even mastered the ability to cry on command, a skill she has employed to her advantage on numerous occasions.
Kelsey benefits a lot from her wealthy background, often resorting to bribery when she needs to manipulate others, especially when gathering information on people she dislikes. Kelsey is quick to discern when someone, particularly boys, is merely interested in her for her wealth.
As the co-captain of the cheer squad, she holds a rather untouchable position and enjoys the constant protection and loyalty the jocks provide her. Kelsey skillfully utilizes this to her advantage, promptly seeking their assistance if any trouble should arise. More specifically her older brother, Mike Glenn.
The classes Kelsey excels at the most are Gym, Art, Geography, and Home Ec.
Weaknesses[]
As mentioned earlier, Kelsey exhibits a confrontational attitude towards those she dislikes. If someone makes derogatory remarks about her character or family, she is swift to engage in verbal or even physical confrontations. To cope with this stress, she actively participates in activities that help her unwind, such as playing dodgeball.
Occasionally, Kelsey exhibits a stubborn and dismissive attitude when confronted with differing viewpoints. She has a strong aversion to being wrong and can be quite resistant to changing her mind about something.
Kelsey has a lingering leg injury that she's careful not to aggravate. This injury dates back to her middle school years when she fell from the school stage during a ballet recital. As a precaution, she wears a brace during cheer practice. Unfortunately, some of her enemies have exploited her injury to spread harmful rumors throughout the school.
The classes that Kelsey does the worst in are Chemistry, Music, Biology, and Shop.
Social Standing[]
With her position as the co-captain of the cheerleading squad and her brother's involvement in two of Bullworth's sports teams, Kelsey holds a significant place in the school's social hierarchy, nearly on par with Mandy herself. She's friends with most of the people in her clique, with only a few exceptions, and has earned the respect from majority of them.
She does lose points with other cliques after denying many girls who had the skill to be cheerleaders on the team because of her own personal dislike for them.
Kelsey's heavily disliked by the Preppies, primarily due to her familial relationship with Aaron Glenn. On top of that, a more personal rivalry has been brewing between her and Derby. This animosity stems from a prior incident before school started, where Derby tripped Kelsey on the dance floor at the town's fireman's ball. To escalate matters, Derby has also made disparaging comments about her mother, intensifying the friction between the two.
Among the townsfolk, Kelsey is portrayed as an angel, largely due to her mother's praise and the good deeds she performs in the community. Kelsey further reinforces this image by running small errands for the townspeople or engaging in friendly conversations with them.
Overall, Kelsey is well-received among both the staff and students at Bullworth, despite many being aware of her occasional negative behaviors.
Background and Personal Life[]
Romantic Relationships[]
Kelsey has experienced her fair share of relationships, often culminating in arguments sparked by minor disagreements. Her most recent romance is with Damon West. While they initially started strong and maintain a good appearance in front of friends, another student, Norton Williams, has recently caught Kelsey's attention. This has led to gossip that Kelsey may be unfaithful to Damon, but she vehemently denies these rumors.
Numerous suitors have pursued Kelsey, hoping to capture her attention. However, most of them are either out of her league or tax bracket.
Familial Relationships and Background[]
After discovering her husband's infidelity, Amanda Glenn uprooted her children from their life in Milton, Georgia. She retained a significant portion of their property in the divorce, selling their house, and relocating to Bullworth when her kids were entering high school. Prior to these events, Kelsey enjoyed a life of privilege and never really wanted for anything. Her days were relatively carefree. But her father's affair completely altered her perception of him, leading to deep resentment. She even went so far as to remove all photos of him from her room.
Amanda consistently attends school events where parents are permitted, wholeheartedly cheering on her children, and has undoubtedly become Kelsey's number one supporter.Nevertheless, Kelsey shares a close bond with her mother, whom she deeply admires. She's motivated to excel in her schoolwork and extracurricular activities, all in an effort to bring pride to her mom.
Beyond her immediate family, Kelsey shares a strong connection with her extended family. She has two older cousins who provide guidance and support throughout her high school journey. Her family takes trips to Louisiana to visit their grandparents, mostly on the major holidays.
